2025-06-13 00:00:00 The app of the Museo Civico Archeologico "Simonini" of Castelfranco Emilia aims to accompany visitors during their visit, offering an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, designed to ensure maximum accessibility for all visitors. The user will be able to explore the sections, rooms and objects of the collection, thanks to the interactive map and multimedia guides. The app is equipped with specific functions to support people with disabilities. The Museo Civico Archeologico, named after Anton Celeste Simonini, was inaugurated by the Municipality in 1999 due to the importance of the archaeological finds made since the mid-1800s in the area, in collaboration with the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Emilia-Romagna and the then Institute for Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage (IBC). Over the years, some changes occurred in the layout of the museum exhibition following various archaeological excavation and research activities; at that time the Municipality reorganized the spaces to be used as a museum at Palazzo Piella and over time catalogued the finds, selecting those suitable to represent the local heritage in the permanent collection. Between 2009 and 2011 the Museum also achieved the prestigious title of “Quality Museum”. Thanks to the funds of the Regional Law 18/2000 on libraries, archives and museums and to the resources of the Municipality, the Civic Archaeological Museum was reopened on 18 December 2021, expanding the number of finds on display and completely reorganizing the exhibition methods: the current museum itinerary, located at Palazzo Piella, organized on a chronological basis and by territorial context, is in fact designed to allow the visitor to simultaneously retrace the entire evolution of the events linked to the population of its territory and encourage attention to the finds on display, thanks to the preparation and use of new cutting-edge technological equipment.
