2024-08-30 00:00:00 The territory of Octavia represents a homogeneous area, by virtue of a common history linked to belonging to the Marquisate of Saluzzo and of a predominantly rural economy, which recalls the permanence of the "herdsmen" who moved from the mountain towards the flat areas in the period winter and the massive local productions, especially of fruit, cheese and confectionery, as well as an important tradition of craftsmanship related to woodworking. This common historical-productive heritage has left important evidences, of which the historical-architectural assets scattered over the territory and the current economic-social fabric are permeated. The area can be compared to the image of a "middle ground", not yet fully in the plain and partially mountainous or bordering with mountain areas, of which it shares morphological and socio-economic characteristics, at the same time with a dominant influence of the marquisate of Saluzzo from the historical-cultural point of view. The application through the "Municipalities" and "Paths" section wants to make this territory known.
