The Petra Museum offers to you what you may not see in the Archaeological Park. This is the place where you may experience the region of Petra over time from the Stone Ages up to the present time, where you can explore and discover the hidden mysteries of the ancient city, and the people who lived there. The Petra Museum provides an excellent selection of artifacts found in and around Petra, as well as interactive digital signage, audiovisuals with 3D CG animation and original size reconstruction models, all based on recent archaeological research. His Majesty King Abdullah II laid the foundation stone for The Petra Museum on 17 October 2014. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II officially opened the museum on World Heritage Day, 18 April, 2019. The construction and preparation of The Petra Museum was implemented by the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, with the cooperation of the Japanese Government.
