2024-01-12 00:00:00 The Regional Museum of Photography, was born from the need to return the CRICD's historical collections to public use. The exhibition itinerary follows the chronological criterion starting on the mezzanine floor with the origins of photography (1839), continuing with the productions of the photographers heirs of the Grand Tour (1865-1930), the new visual language of Naturalism and Pictorialism, the photographic atelier and studio activity, the history of portraiture, the age of the Florios and Sicilian society. On the upper floor we find three monographic rooms dedicated to great Sicilian photographers: Giuseppe Incorpora, Eugenio Interguglielmi, and Benedetto and Eugenio Bronzetti. One section is devoted to twentieth-century documentary photography, which offers evidence on urban architecture and Sicilian rural reality.
